The project
Modernize strategically. Not disruptively.
Saint Joseph Residence partnered with 603 Technology Solutions to create a practical roadmap for aging and separately managed technology systems. Instead of replacing every component at once, the initiative combines targeted upgrades, cross-vendor coordination, and the continued use of assets that still provide operational value.
The result is a more resilient and manageable foundation for communications, cloud services, identity, and security — built around the needs of a senior care environment where dependable systems support staff productivity and continuity of resident services.
The roadmap
A foundation for what comes next.

Foundation
Planning began in February 2025
Saint Joseph Residence began working with 603 Technology Solutions to set technology goals alongside long-term budgeting and capital improvement planning.
Phase 1
Connectivity & infrastructure modernization
MDF and IDF redesign, five Layer 3 PoE switches, Internet modernization, power protection, wireless optimization, and unified management.
Connectivity milestone
Fidium Fiber primary ISP migration
Migrated to Fidium Fiber as the facility’s primary ISP, providing symmetrical 1 Gig service to the facility.
Phase 2
Cloud communications transformation
Planned NUSO cloud voice and Yealink phones will replace the legacy Toshiba PBX and reduce dependence on aging telephone equipment.
Phase 3
Secure cloud workplace migration
A planned transition to Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Defender, enhanced email protection, encrypted email, and DNS security.

Business outcomes
Technology work that makes the business stronger.
Increased reliability
Redundant switching, layered power protection, and connectivity failover reduce dependence on individual components.
Unified visibility
Centralized wired and wireless management provides one place to monitor, troubleshoot, and support the environment.
Better asset value
Existing fiber, wireless access points, failover service, and generator capacity remain productive parts of the solution.
Future readiness
The upgraded foundation supports cloud phones, Microsoft 365, advanced security, and future backbone improvements.
Before & roadmap
A clear path from fragmented to manageable.
The goal was not to replace technology for the sake of replacement. It was to reduce risk, improve control, and make every useful investment work harder.
Technical highlights
Enterprise-grade infrastructure, thoughtfully deployed.
Gateway & management
Ubiquiti UDM-PRO and integrated UniFi management
Switching
Five USW-PRO-HD-24-PoE Layer 3 switches — three in the MDF and two in the IDF
Power resilience
RPS units, PDU-PRO, monitored CyberPower UPS systems, and the facility generator
Internet resilience
Symmetrical Fidium Fiber with existing T-Mobile failover
Wireless
Eleven retained U6-PRO access points, one U7-PRO-XG, and three U6-Mesh access points
Backbone
Existing six-strand OM2 fiber retained for the current inter-building design
